Life in Portland – Green, Lively, and Full of Possibilities 

Elizabeth is 42 and works as the Director of Leadership Development for a large corporation. Originally from the Southwestern United States, she found herself unexpectedly falling in love with the Pacific Northwest. 

“Portland feels like living on a movie set,” she shares. “It’s so green and full of life, such a contrast to New Mexico, where everything is brown and beautiful in a harsher way.”

“As a kid, I felt like I needed to blend in and be small because of my bigger build,” she explains. Over time, that mindset began to shift, though new questions emerged – Am I too old for this? Is this still stylish?

The Search For a Raincoat That Didn’t Hide Her 

Living in Portland introduced a very real wardrobe challenge: rain. Lots of it. 

“I’d put together a cute outfit, then cover it with a boxy, frumpy raincoat that made me feel invisible,” Elizabeth says. “I kept thinking – there has to be something better.”
