The Three Sisters

The Story of The Three Sisters
It all began when we — three sisters Zanda, Zane, and Zaiga — kept running into a problem: no umbrella works when it's windy, and the rain certainly doesn't wait for calm weather. We’d go out or on walks with our children only to return home soaked and feeling anything but put together.
What frustrated us the most was that we couldn't find a raincoat that was beautiful enough and allowed us to feel like women. The only options were either sporty and unflatteringly unisex, or purely functional and made from stiff or rubber-like material. Nothing that felt like us. Nothing that moved with grace. Nothing feminine.
Determined to change that, we created the first RainSisters collection. Something we ourselves wanted to wear — functional, comfortable and elegantly so beautiful.
We grew up in Jēkabpils, a small town in eastern Latvia, in a household of six, where sewing and reworking old clothes wasn't a trend, it was just how things were done in the 90s. While each of us went on to build a career in something different — architecture, design, textile technology or finance —, we never really stopped sewing, and we never stopped being sisters first. Despite successful careers, our professional skills and passions led us to the decision to start RainSisters.
Let's meet the founders - the sisters behind the brand:
Zanda
"I guess I could say I've always had a passion for design and fashion. As a kid I used to design and sew clothes for my dolls, sketch models, and secretly try on my mum’s dresses. I rely heavily on intuition, and I'm a bit stubborn, so at times I do have a tendency to overreact - especially when it comes to reaching my goals. So I'm grateful that my sisters know me well enough not to get upset about it. At RainSisters, I'm responsible for the company’s vision and creative direction - our styles, prints, and designs. I also lead marketing and plan every photoshoot.”

Zaiga
"I think the best way to describe myself is thoughtful and patient. I love to carefully consider things and find the best solutions. I rarely get angry or mad because I believe that all opinions matter, and there is always a way to reach an agreement. I’m quite kind-hearted, and, honestly, I wish there was a way to give our coats to our customers as gifts - just like that, for free. At RainSisters I am leveraging my professional knowledge and supervising manufacturing, quality control, material sourcing, and creating technical patterns for our styles.”

Zane
"I am really outgoing, I love to try new things, and I adapt quite quickly. Since early childhood, I have been very precise and detail-oriented. I also love to be creative, but honestly, there has always been an accountant in me. So in RainSisters, I am “the finance sister”. I love to base decisions on data, so I'm the one creating all the spreadsheets, tables, and graphs. I am also planning the production runs and managing various operational processes.”

We're still the ones running RainSisters today, still three sisters who happen to run a brand together.
As a family business founded and managed by three sisters, our brand carries the unique warmth and solidarity of sisterhood. Our bond extends beyond blood, creating a community of women who share a common thread of strength and elegance. We understand the complexities of the feminine experience, and our collections reflect this understanding, offering a canvas for women to navigate through life's varied climates with grace.
Join us on this journey where every coat tells a story and embraces us - women!
With love,
Zanda, Zaiga and Zane
