RainSisters Around The World: Julia’s Journey in Feminine Fashion

Which is why we knew we had to tell you a story about Julia, a cheerful and vibrant RainSisters fan based in Germany, who proves that colour, confidence, and kindness are always in style. 

Meet Julia 

When we had this conversation, Julia had recently started a new job as an accountant and was loving the fresh beginning. Working in an office surrounded by kind colleagues, she was settling into her new routine while expressing her bright personality through fashion. 

“I love colourful things,” she says, smiling. “My friends would describe me as someone who’s always helpful and never in a bad mood. I think that’s true – I just love spreading positivity.” 

Like many of our customers, Julia first discovered RainSisters through social media. 

“It was a few years ago, and I kept seeing this pretty yellow coat that just stood out. I've always loved yellow raincoats, but this one was different – it had a belt, not boxy like the traditional ones. It looked like a dress, and I loved that!”

That first yellow RainSisters coat, our 'Yellow Sun’, left a lasting impression. But her RainSisters journey actually started with something quite opposite. 

Classy Start For a Growing Collection 

Despite being in love with the 'Yellow Sun’ coat, during the Black Friday sale, Julia finally welcomed her first RainSisters coat into her wardrobe – the ‘Queen of Spades’. It’s a longer, more dramatic black piece that protects her legs in colder, rainy weather.

“Everyone at my new office says it suits me so well, and they know that I'm the person with the beautiful coat. I’ve never felt more feminine and happy, while wearing a coat. I wear it almost every day, even if it’s not raining.”

Experiencing how good the quality of RainSisters coats is and how even a simple black coat can lift your confidence and mood, Julia decided to make another purchase. This time, she went for the ‘Raspberry Sorbet', because she just couldn’t resist the lovely shade of pink. 

“It’s pink, romantic, and in real life it looks even better than in pictures. I haven’t had the chance to wear it yet, but as soon as I will, I will let you know.”

Some time after our interview, Julia emailed us, saying: “I wanted to tell you how much I love the ‘Raspberry Sorbet’ coat! It’s so pretty, and I even received some compliments on my first day wearing it. 

I had just parked my bike when an older lady told me that I have a very nice coat. She then asked me where this one was from, because she had been looking for one for a long time.

When I wear my pink coat, more people look after me or look at me for a longer period. I believe they are staring in a good way, because I have often been smiled at. I must admit, the coats definitely give me a boost of confidence!”

For now, Julia proudly owns two RainSisters coats, but we have a feeling her collection might keep growing. 

Confidence Booster 

Wearing RainSisters coats has done more than brighten Julia’s wardrobe. It’s influenced the way she dresses and feels about herself. 

“My usual jackets are more relaxed, more oversized. But when I wear my RainSisters coat – even just over office clothes – I instantly feel more elegant. It makes me want to dress nicer. I even bought new shoes to match! And I think I feel more confident because of my RainSisters coat.”

When asked if our coat has boosted her self-image, she answered honestly: “I usually don’t care too much about how I look, but I do care how people perceive me. RainSisters has helped me express my femininity in a way I wasn’t able to before.”

Compliments That Stay With You 

It’s not just Julia who notices the magic. Others do, too. 

“I get so many compliments. Once, a lady literally ran after me while on the phone, told her friend on the phone to wait, and asked where my coat was from. Another time, at a concert in the Netherlands, a woman stopped me in the street to ask where my coat was from. I had to write it down for her.”

Julia says these moments – especially when strangers are so moved they make an effort to ask – feel like the best compliments she could ever receive. 

In fact, Julia even wore her RainSisters coat to her job interview. 

“There was a party afterward, and everyone had to dress nicely. I wore a dress and my ‘Queen of Spades’ coat – it made me feel polished and special. My new colleagues noticed and complimented the coat.”

Passing On The Message 

So what would she say to someone, who is still unsure about ordering a RainSisters coat? 

“Try it on. Just try. It’s like shopping for a wedding dress – when you find the one, you’ll know. I once ordered the ‘Wild Strawberry’, which I loved, but it didn’t feel right for me. When I tried the ‘Queen of Spades’ or ‘Raspberry Sorbet’, I felt like myself – only better.”

Julia would like to see more women embrace their femininity – whatever that looks like for them – and take a chance on something beautiful. She has even sparked an interest among her friends. 

“One of my close friends is looking for a used coat now. We’re students, so sometimes a new one is too expensive. I told her about the RainSisters Facebook group, where people sell or trade their old coats. It’s a great way to find something beautiful on a budget.”
