RainSisters Around The World: A Wicked Fairy Tale Creature From London

Our first introduction with Yulia happened in July on RainSisters Facebook group, where she posted a picture of her four black RainSisters coats with the caption: “No, I'm not addicted…” The minute we saw this post, we just knew we had to talk to Yulia to learn more about this addiction of hers. 

In this latest chapter of RainSisters Around the World, we’re taking you to London to meet Yulia – a marketing freelancer with a gothic soul, a love for opera, and a growing collection of RainSisters coats.

A Gothic Spirit in the City 

“I’ve always been a bit of a goth,” tells Yulia, as she introduces herself. “I almost always wear black, I love classical music and heavy metal, and I'm hooked on opera.” Her personal style is dramatic yet timeless, which is exactly what drew her to RainSisters in the first place. 

Living in London means enduring plenty of grey skies and rainy days – but Yulia had grown tired of settling for rainwear that felt uninspired. One day, she typed “feminine waterproof coat” into Google, and that search changed her wardrobe forever.

“That’s how I first saw RainSisters,” she recalls. “I clicked on the link, saw the coats, and instantly fell in love. I thought: well, beautiful things like these don’t come cheap. But I couldn’t stop thinking about the ‘Raven Red’ coat – it had everything I wanted: a fitted cut, drama, and my two favourite colours, black and red. Unfortunately, my size was sold out, so I signed up for the restock alert and hoped for the best.” 

The Halloween Sign 

Weeks later, as Halloween approached, Yulia received the email she’d been waiting for: ‘Raven Red’ was back in stock – in her size. “It felt like a sign! I had this glam outdoor Halloween party coming up, and no idea what to wear. I ordered the coat immediately, praying it would arrive in time. And it did!” 

When she unwrapped it, the first impression was unforgettable.

“It was gorgeous – so beautifully made, fitting like a glove. I wore it to the party as a glamorous vampire and got showered with compliments. But the best part was realizing that this coat wasn’t just a costume piece – it was something I could wear every day. Sure, it’s dramatic for running errands, but a little drama makes life more fun, doesn’t it?” 

A Growing Collection 

As it turns out, that first ‘Raven Red’ purchase was only the beginning. Since then, Yulia has treated herself to every single RainSisters sale, building a collection of four coats so far – each chosen for a different mood. 

Deep Emerald: “Elegant and understated, with a deep green lining. Perfect for business meetings when I want to make a statement but stay subtle.” 

Pink Ruby: “My ‘Bad Girl Barbie Coat’, as I like to call it. I hesitated at first, thinking fuchsia was too close to red, but I was wrong. It’s vibrant, feminine, even burlesque – totally different from ‘Raven Red’. Every time I wear it, I feel unstoppable.” 

Wild Strawberry: “I'm not usually into prints, but this one got me. Black with little red strawberries – it’s super cute and gothic at the same time. I even bought one for my mum, and it looks amazing on her too, even though we both have different body types. RainSisters really nailed the fit.” 

As Yulia explains, each coat, even though black, brings out a different side of her personality: bold, playful, classic, or whimsical. 

Wearing Magic Every Day 

When asked how she feels, when wearing RainSisters coats, Yulia’s answer comes without hesitation: “Like a wicked fairy tale creature – in the best possible way!” 

“These coats elevate everything. I usually pair them with skinny jeans and combat boots, and it’s the perfect combo. Wherever I go, people notice. My friends always compliment me, and strangers stare – but in a good way. I often get compared to vampires or witches, and I love it, because that’s exactly the look I'm after.”

For Yulia, RainSisters has been more than just fashion. It has become a part of her identity, boosting her confidence and allowing her to embrace her femininity while staying true to her unique style. 

Her message to other women is both heartfelt and empowering: 

“I want to try and avoid clichés, but love yourselves for who you are. Celebrate your uniqueness. And never forget to spoil yourselves rotten once in a while – we all deserve it.”
