Co-creation, in the context of a business, refers to a product or service design process in which input from consumers plays a central role from beginning to end. Less specifically, the term can also be used for any way in which a business allows consumers to submit ideas, designs or content.
There are three levels of co-creation that we have experienced together with our shoppers in the almost two years of existence of brand 'RainSisters'.
1. CUSTOMER SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW COLOR COMBINATIONS
When starting with the first coat collection, we received a lot of feedback like "great product but they all are white, get us something dark instead". We couldn't find any floral patterns in dark colors that we would like, so we are creating our own fabric designs since the Fall2018 coat collection. And this feedback from customers has proven to be exactly to the point - our dark-colored waterproof design coat models 'Hortense', 'Blossom', and 'Rosalie' have been our bestsellers so far.
2. 'MIX&MATCH' - COMBINE THE COAT SILHOUETTES AND FABRIC PATTERNS TO DESIGN YOUR OWN COAT
When creating new coat models, we select one fabric pattern and one coat style that we see as the best match. Is it the only possible good looking match? Surely not. Is it the best color for you and the best coat pattern for exactly you? Not necessarily. And you know best, of course. So, let us know if you want a combination that is not listed as a product, let's see how we can work that out for you!
3. CO-CREATION OF NEW PRODUCTS: WINTER COATS
Sara and Will from Maine, USA ordered a RainSisters design coat. Sara loved her 'Rosalie', and asked if a winter coat with extra lining layer could be a possibility.
We had thought about coats for warmer temperatures (light coats of Spring2019), and we had also contemplated winter coats together with our friends from nordicsummerset.com ('breathable comfort for babies' - thermoregulating vests and more) but had dropped the idea.
This order came in time - in the true sense of co-creation where the first order is a bit of an experiment, we have now created our winter coat collection! Choice of 'Winter Blue', 'Winter Blossom', 'Winter MattePeony', or 'Winter Rosalie', waterproof, snowproof, windproof, breathable, and extra warm (fit for -15°…+5°C) - now the floral and feminine winter design coats by RainSisters are ready to be your best friends in the cold days!
